Dwayne was born on April 21,1940, in Cozad, NE to Donald Harrison Ross and Anna Margaret Haskins Ross. He graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, CA where he met Mary Marlene Setser in their freshman year. They were married after graduation on November 15,1958, in Lawndale, CA.

Dwayne became Vice President of Scarbrough Construction where he ran heavy equipment for several years. In 1972 Dwayne accepted Jesus as his Savior. One year later he answered God's call to full time Ministry as a Minister of Evangelism leading over 100 people to a relationship with Jesus, one on one. Upon leaving construction they moved to Stockton First Church for 3 years, then to Midway City Church of the Nazarene, after which he became the Pastor of the Riverside Church for 10 yrs. He and Marlene then felt the call to the Los Angeles Mission where they served as Chaplains to the homeless downtown. Again, they were called to move on to another "harvest" in Colton CA. where he retired from preaching but not from leading others to Jesus. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his warmth, unmistakable laugh, and unwavering support. He was known for his dedication to his family, his passion for leading others to Christ, and his ability to brighten any room.

Dwayne enjoyed the outdoors riding and racing his motorcycles, camping with his grandkids, driving buses for the youth choir tours and boating. Everything was a ministry to him. He would take the Los Angeles Mission, who so many had never experienced these things, and showed them how to camp and fish in Mammoth or ski on Lake Paris. He was a father figure to his grandsons and granddaughters and a great example of a "Man of God". He loved his family and he loved unconditionally as his Savior did.
