Dwight Asa Chalker, 74, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Marianna, Florida, to Ellis and LaVada (Gilbert) Chalker.
Dwight was a proud graduate of Louisiana State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force. On May 25, 1997, he married the love of his life, Nyane Minter, and together they built a strong and loving family. He also had a lifelong passion for music and loved to play his keyboard in several bands.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, whose kind heart and steady presence touched the lives of many.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Nyane Chalker; children, Wade Chalker, Drew Daniels, and Courtney Chalker; step-children, Scott Trent, Amy Dunshee and husband Michael, and Jason Trent and wife Staci; grandchildren, Sierra Trent, Carolina Trent, Mason Trent, and Lillian Trent; great-grandchildren, Frankie Trent and Emmet Cowgill; brother, Gil Chalker and wife Kathy; and Dwight’s faithful dog, Sassy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and LaVada Chalker.
