Dwight William Davis Sr., 90, of Columbus, passed from this life at 7:11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Davis was born March 5, 1932, in Columbus, the son of Clarence F. and Frona E. Anderson Davis.
He married Kathryn A. Greathouse February 6, 1960.
He was formerly employed with Stadler Packing Company for 30 years and later Mariah Packing Company for 12 years.
He was the grounds keeper for Bartholomew County-Dunn Stadium for several years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years; children, Stan (Rachel Mayes) Davis of Greenwood, Kathy (Randy) Whitis of Columbus and Dwight Davis II of Columbus; grandchildren, Olivia, Kyle, Cayden, Cassie and Floyd Patrick II; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Herbert (Judy) Davis of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Floyd Patrick Davis; four brothers; three sisters and granddaughter.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Duane Risser officiating.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or American Heart Association.
