Dwight Dale Holsopple Sr., age 70, of Tornado, West Virginia, also known as "The Vega Man" and "The Cavalier King," went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 7:06 p.m.
He was born in Princeton, West Virginia, on September 10, 1954. A graduate of Hurricane High School, he went on to attend West Virginia State College (now University).
Dwight was a lifelong mechanic who made his living doing what he loved, working on cars. He was known for his passion for vehicles, especially his love of Chevy Vegas and Cavaliers, earning him the nicknames that friends and family fondly remember. When he wasn’t under the hood of a car, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale V. Holsopple and Norma McClung Holsopple, and his former wife and mother of his children, Tammy Sue Holsopple.
He is survived by his children: Chad, Dwight Jr. of Tornado, West Virginia, Cameron of Scott Depot, West Virginia, Keith of Tornado, West Virginia, Kelly of Hurricane, West Virginia, Kevin of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Dustin of St. Albans, West Virginia; and his beloved grandchildren: Lauriana Blackhurst, Kizer Ashton Holsopple, Karson Dale Holsopple, and Walker Cameron Holsopple.
Also surviving are his siblings: Vicki (Grover) Morris of Hurricane, West Virginia, Marsha (Winston) Brown of Fraziers Bottom, West Virginia, Bruce (Tina) Holsopple of Culloden, West Virginia, and Nancy (Gary) Morse of Bartlett, Tennessee; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Elk Funeral & Cremation Service, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave, Charleston, WV 25302.
