Michael Anthony Richardson

Michael Anthony Richardson, 67, of Tornado, WV, son of the late George and Myrle Richardson, passed away on January 20, 2026, after a brief illness.

Affectionately known as Captain Mike, he was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Captain Mike excelled as a professional fishing guide and was known for his love of reeling in Muskies at Eagle Lake in Ontario, Canada where he became a well-known guide and a friend to many. For more than 30 years he owned Captain Mike Great Adventure Guide Service, providing clients with exhilarating experiences and gaining lifetime friendships. He was a Marine Corps Veteran and a Patriot who loved his country.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, and his former wife, Edna Thomas Richardson. He is survived by his loving wife, Lona Edgington Richardson, and his sisters, Terri Bennett, Dinah Brown and Janie Dizon. He had a special place in his heart for his friend John Barton, who was like a brother to him.

Captain Mike will be greatly missed by his family and many friends in West Virginia, Canada and beyond who loved him for his generous, fun-loving spirit and his unconventional approach to a life well lived. A Celebration of Life in his honor will take place at a later date.
