Neil D. Woofter

Neil D. Woofter, 89, of Venice Florida, formerly of St. Albans, West Virginia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. We take comfort in knowing he is now with his Heavenly Father free of the illnesses that plagued him in his final years.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Woofter and Nellie Woofter Hall along with great-grandson, Jaxonn.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Eleanor (Poe) Woofter; One sister, Nancy (Roy) Trent; daughter, Brenda (Wayne) Denardis; son, Duane Woofter; two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Neil grew up in both Clarksburg and St, Albans. After graduating SAHS, Neil served in the United States Air Force. After leaving the military he worked at Union Carbide Institute as an electrician until retiring to Florida. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Mountaineers.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans with Rev. Jacob Henley Officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
