Russell W. "Jack" McCarty

Russell W. "Jack" McCarty, 87, of Hilliard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Dublin Methodist Hospital, Hilliard, Ohio.

Born December 18, 1938 in Apple Grove, Jack was the son of James Russell McCarty and Velada Long McCarty. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Patricia "Pat" Newman McCarty, siblings, Harlan Stover, Phillys White, John, Donald, and Dale McCarty.

He was a warehouse manager for Michael's Finest Meats, and a Master Sargent in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service and served multiple tours during Vietnam.

Jack is survived by his sons Russell Wayne McCarty II (Joyce), John Michael McCarty (Cassy), and Daughter-in-law Theresa Marie McCarty all of Hilliard, OH; Grandchildren Megan (TJ) and, Ian (Hailey), TJ, Bella, Aaron, and Gracie; Great grandchildren Xavier, Eleanor, Claire, and Peyton; brother Ronald McCarty of Mason County, WV, sister Beverly Mainville of Pt. Pleasant, WV, brothers-in-law James "Jim" Cantley of Nitro, WV and Patrick L. Newman of San Diego, CA and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans with Pastor Charles V. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Eleanor, WV with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
