Connie Shingleton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Connie Ann Shingleton, 74, passed away on February 1, 2026 at home.

She was born in Charleston, WV to the late Charles Robert and Dorothy Gilmore. She is also preceded in death by her son, Jason Shingleton.

She is survived by the love of her life David Shingleton; her daughter, Carrie Wilson (Brian) of St. Albans; brother, Robert Gilmore (Kathy) of Punta Gorda, Florida; nephews Brian Gilmore (Kathy) and Stephen Gilmore (Heather); Todd Taylor (Robyn); grandchildren, Makenna Wilson and Kali Wilson; great-grandchildren, Ryland Shreves, Teagan Shreves, Kohen Fugate and Hadlee Fugate; and many other extended family and friends.

Connie was formally employed by Jackson Kelly as a legal secretary for over 25 years where she made several cherished life-long friendships, including her "bff" Alice Collins. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved spending time laughing with and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cared deeply for animals and contributed to both animal and children's charities. Connie was a wonderful friend to all that were lucky enough to know her and will be deeply missed.

Per Connie's wishes, there will not be a traditional service at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for friends to make donations in Connie's honor to your favorite animal charity or local animal shelter.
