Dwight Otha King

Dwight was born in Agra, KS to O.D. and Thelma (Keesee) King. The family permanently moved to Fort Collins in 1950 where he met his wife of 73 years Arlene (Minch) King. He is survived by Arlene, a brother Ronald King (Barbara) and daughters Pam Cofer and Diane Harvey (Kim). Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, his beloved son David and grandson Beau Harvey.
Dwight had 7 grandkids, 15 great-grandkids, 2 great-great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews.
Dwight had several jobs throughout his life, sometimes working two at a time. He retired from Wells Fargo where he was head of building and grounds maintenance for 30 years. During his years at the bank, he was awarded Employee of the Quarter on two separate occasions. Fellow employees referred to him as a "mover and a shaker and fixer of all things broken." He was rumored to be the most sought-after man at the bank. He was also referred to as "Dwight the Moving Man, Dwight the Plumber, Dwight the Carpenter and Dwight the Emergency Rescue Squad." But to those at the bank, he was "Dwight the Problem Buster."
He taught his three children patience, the value of hard work and a love of the outdoors. Fishing, hunting and camping with his brother Ron and his son David were some of his favorite pastimes. He also taught himself the art of woodworking, making beautiful furniture and gifts for friends and family.
His kind, gentle personality as well as his quirky sense of humor (which he kept until the very end) will be missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held December 8, 2023 at Grandview Cemetery (1900
W Mountain Ave) at 1:00 pm, followed by a light reception at the Senior Center (1200 Raintree Dr, Prairie Sage 1 Room).
