Dwight Romagnoli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jacobs Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Iron Mountain on Jan. 22, 2026.
Dwight Henry Romagnoli, a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a life marked by hard work, pride in accomplishment, deep devotion to family.

From an early age, Dwight distinguished himself as a leader and scholar, earning the honor of being selected for Boys Nation. He later played a key role in higher education in his community, spearheading the committee that successfully brought the Bay College campus to Iron Mountain. He also achieved a lifelong point of pride when he and his football teammates were inducted into the Michigan State University Hall of Fame.

For more than 50 years, Dwight was a fixture in the Iron Mountain community through his work in the supper club business. Hospitality was not just a profession for him; it was a calling. Many who passed through his doors left as friends, nourished by good food, good stories, and his steady presence.

He was a man of many talents and passions, and he joyfully passed them on to his two sons and grandchildren. Hunting, fishing, and cooking were not just hobbies, but traditions lovingly shared across generations. He also spent a memorable chapter in beekeeping and the honey business, adding yet another craft to the long list of things he loved to learn and share. A gifted woodworker, he crafted much of the cabinetry in both his home and his supper club with his own hands, leaving behind tangible reminders of his skill and care.

He took special joy in time spent with his grandchildren, Tony and Maria. Whether walking the woods with Tony or standing side by side in the kitchen with Maria, those moments were among his greatest treasures.

Every fall brought canning season - tomatoes, asparagus, and anything else worthy of his famous brine - another ritual that filled both shelves and hearts. His favorite place was at home, sitting in front of the lake, or, when he could, in front of the river at camp, always with the dogs close by.

Above all, Dwight leaves behind a rich legacy of storytelling, stories that will be told again and again, each time bringing laughter, wisdom, and memories of the man who told them best.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Joyce, and by his beloved wife, Marrijane.

He is survived by his brother, Ted, and Ted's wife, Stephany, and their daughters, Quinn and Lissa; his sons, Pat and Mike (Katie); his grandchildren, Tony and Maria; and, not to be forgotten, his faithful companions Harvey, Gus, and Charlie.

We would like to add a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and support staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Bellin Health for their incredibly compassionate care.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In accordance with Dwight's wishes, private family services will be held.
