Dwight Self Obituary
Kevin was a native of Oxford, MS but has resided in the Shoals area most of his life. He was a member of Redemption Shoals and the Muscle Shoals Utilities Board. Kevin was in broadcasting with WLAY Radio for 50 years and the voice of multiple nationally broadcast commercials and was known as "The Tornado Siren Guy."
He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Mitchell Self.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Self; children, Angela Agnew (Thomas), Kristin Elizabeth Self, Dwight Kristopher Self, Daniel Kevin Self, and Jacqueline Ann Self; mother, Elizabeth Lynne Self; brothers, Robert M. Self (Chas), James M. Self (Melissa), and William T. Self (Terri); sister, Michelle Tiffin (Van); grandchildren, Camden Elise Agnew and Whitley Christine Agnew; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Leigh Tiffin, Tas Agnew, Mark Cribbs, Mike Self, Tim Self, and Wes Wilson. Honorary pallbearer is David Heidorn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Kevin worked for my small production business for more than 10 years. I never met him in person, but he would sometimes record a spot for me and then do a 'hilarious outtake' at the end. It always made my day! We will miss him so very much.

I am saddened to hear the news of Kevin passing. He hired me at WZMX FM in Russellville, Alabama in 1990. He was a focused employer and I am sure he has a place in heaven. Gods blessings to the family and the droves of friends and fans.
