Dwight Scott Tanner

Dwight Scott Tanner, age 52, passed away November 18, 2023. He was a 1989 graduate of East Central High School and continued his education at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He was a member of the R.P. Bowen Lodge #430, Joppa Temple Shriners, South Alabama Antique Tractor and Engine Club. He was currently employed with Mississippi Export Railroad. Scott was a loving fiancé, father, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Martha Tanner, Jr.; grandparents, Luther and Sarah Tanner, Sr. and Joseph and Ellen Broadus.
Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancé, Chana Hamilton; children, Dakota (Bryson) Tanner-Russell, Skye Vaughn, Corbin Tanner, Remi Hamilton, Baby Tanner expected in February; siblings, Wade (Rachel) Tanner and Claire (Paul) Balcer; niece and nephews Madelyn Tanner, Hunter Tallent, Christian Balcer and Austin Tanner; special family, Larry and Kathy Gunn, Kenny Gunn and Robert Hamilton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Kevin Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Caswell Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Greg Condreay, Mike Furby, Ryan Cumbest, Kenny Gunn, Robert Felts and Lynn Harrison. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Gunn and Robert Hamilton.
