Dwite Silliman

Dwite Silliman, 86, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Mill Pond Homes in Ankeny.

C. Dwite Silliman was born August 16, 1939, in East Peru, Iowa, the son of Walter and Neola (Felton) Silliman. He attended Winterset High School, graduating with the Class of 1957. Dwite spent most of his life in the Winterset and Ankeny areas, where he built many lasting friendships.

On March 27, 2000, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Fox in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they shared a loving blended family and many happy memories.

Dwite was the owner of Silliman Construction. He loved spending time fishing, collecting antiques (especially model trains) and enjoying a good Maid-Rite. He also looked forward to time spent at Prairie Meadows.

He is survived by his sons (John, Jeff, and Rick) as well as Mary Jane's daughters (Melody and Michel) -- John (Michelle) Silliman, Jeff (Melody) Silliman, Rick (Jenny) Silliman, and Michel (Greg) Albaugh; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

Dwite was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane; his parents, Walter and Neola; his brothers, Don, Doyle, Dick, and Duane; and his sisters, Darlene, Deanne, and Delores.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Friends Cemetery in Ankeny.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
