Walter James Bush, 82, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the Garden Terrace in Overland Park, Kansas.

Jim was born April 2nd 1943 to Walter Eugene and Ruth Naomi Bush in Los Angeles California, where his father was stationed with the Navy. After his time in the service Eugene moved his family back to the Winterset Iowa area and in 1952 they moved to a farm outside of Redman Missouri where they raised their 8 children of which Jim was the 3rd oldest.

Jim was an enthusiast of cars, motorcycles, planes and trap shooting. Jim ran a pool hall when he was young and loved a good game of billiards. And he worked as a diesel mechanic most of his adult life: working for Orscheln Trucklines until they closed down and then his own shop outside of Huntsville.

Jim married his first wife Louise on February 29th, 1964 and had 3 children together. His 2nd wife Tina Steel he married in 1988 and one son was born of their time together. His 3rd wife Darlene (Gustin Lester) was a good step-mom & friend to all of his children.

Survived by Daughters Cheri (Wayne) Bollman of NW Arkansas, Teresa Bowden of Wilmer Alabama, Sons Terry Wayne Bush of Chickasaw Alabama & Micheal Eugene (Bush) Steel of Kansas City Missouri. Brother Frank (Ruth) Bush of Macon Mo, Sister Mary Jane Savicky of Clearwater, Florida. Grandsons David Roberts of Falls Church VA, Timothy Bollman of Austin TX, Isaac Matthew Bollman of Springdale AR, Samuel Bollman of Siloam Springs AR, Tristian Bowden of Mobile AL, Grandaughter Bethany Bowden of Chickasaw AL and one Great Grandaughter Ivory of Chickasaw AL, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Eugene & Ruth Bush, Brothers Ronnie, Steve & Robert(Bob), Sister Betty Smoot & Husband Don, & Sister Louise Bott and her ex-husband Gary Bott (who maintained a friendship with Jim), 2nd wife Tina Steel, and 3rd wife Darlene ( Gustin-Lester) and cherished friend Hazel (Gravitt) Thorp.
