In Loving Memory of Dykota James Cornforth
March 9, 1998 – October 15, 2024
Dykota James Cornforth, affectionately known as Kota, 26, of Madison, Maine, passed away
unexpectedly on October 15, 2024. Born in Skowhegan, Maine, he was a cherished son, brother,
and friend, whose impact on those around him will forever be felt.
A proud graduate of Madison Area Memorial High School, Dykota embraced life with a spirit
that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a deep passion for music, especially
heavy metal, and his talent as an accomplished guitarist brought joy to many. Dykota found
tranquility in camping with his beloved grandparents or his closest friends, relishing moments of
peace and quiet away from the hustle of everyday life.
Dykota was a gentle soul with a stubborn streak, wise beyond his years. His kindness, creativity,
and readiness to lend a helping hand defined him. He approached life with an infectious
enthusiasm, reflected in his love for football, basketball, and video games, which highlighted his
vibrant personality and zest for life.
He is survived by his loving mother, Nicole Bonito; father, Allen Bonito; and biological father,
Howard Pike III. Dykota will be deeply missed by his siblings: older sister Meeghan, younger
sister Ghillian, and younger brother Shyre, as well as numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, and
cousins including:
Aunts: Kristen Miles, Heather Worster, Brandi Dawes, Patricia Quinlan, and Shelly Nile,
Rhonda Thomas
Uncles: Tim Worster, Justin Cornforth, Tony Bonito, Shawn Miles, Jr. Nile, and Bob Thomas,
Ray Cornforth, Scott Cornforth
Cousins: Quinn Cornforth, Nathan Cornforth, Tyler Cornforth, Trent Worster, Anthony Bonito
III, Evan Bonito, Larry Cornforth, David Cornforth, and Scotty Cornforth
Grandparents: James Cornforth II, Donna Churchill, Charlie Churchill, Jean Cornforth, Diane
Bonito, and James Cornforth Senior.
Dykota is fondly remembered by his lifelong friends Jeff Bearor and Brooklyn Bearor. He is
predeceased by his Uncle Randy Willette, Aunt Rhonda Cole, Bruce Cornforth, and Anthony
Bonito Senior.
A celebration of Dykota's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the VFW in
Madison, Maine, at 2 PM. This gathering will provide family and friends an opportunity to come
together and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to bring your favorite dish to
share.
Dykota will be remembered for his gentle heart, strong spirit, and the profound love he shared
with everyone around him. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and passion for life will forever
inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
