Our hero, Dylan James Jahner, was born March 17, 2003 in Hettinger ND, to Rich and Jennifer (Molbert) Jahner. He was known by many nicknames, including Dillard, Bubba and Dillweed. He attended Hettinger Public School and had just completed the third grade and was looking forward to "moving upstairs" to the fourth grade.
Dylan loved sports, was a talented wrestler and earned the title of State Champion in 2012. He begged his dad to coach football when he was old enough to play, and rarely missed a Chicago Bears game.
Dylan loved being outside, riding bike with his brother Braden, playing in the yard, fishing or hunting with his family, or spending time at the lake. He loved teasing his Dad and anyone else he fished with about always catching the most fish.
Dylan was never in a hurry, always taking his time to make sure everything he did was just right. He loved spending time with his family, and always looked for hugs. He liked to make his family and friends smile with his silly antics like the Mr. Bean dance and his Allelluiah song.
Dylan loved to help others. If there was a home improvement project to be done, Dylan was eager to learn, and eager to make sure Dad knew if Mom was using his tools. His love of helping will live on for years to come in the gift of life he gave to so many others through organ donation.
Dylan's smile, the glimmer in his sky blue eyes, and his willingness to be the first to say "I love you" when tucked in at night will be just a few of the things his family will miss.
Dylan, 10 year old Friend, Brother and Hero Son, answered God's call to save others after a tragic accident in Hettinger, ND on June 12, 2013. Dylan's gifts of life through organ donation forever enable his spirit to live on and help the lives of many others. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
