Dylan B. Skalina

With deepest sorrow, we share the passing of Dylan Benjamin Skalina, age 12, of Phoenix, Arizona, who passed away on November 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and closest friends.
Dylan was the cherished son of Megan and Ari Skalina and beloved brother of Kaylie, Alexis, Nova, and Parker. He is also loved by Andrea and Jason Wieck (Jordyn, Jasmyn, Jaxon), Zac and Sarah Portnoy (Owen), Jayme Kurland and Jeff Moran, and Blair Kurland and Greer Rollier. He is the treasured grandson of Joan Portnoy and Barbara and Juraj Skalina, and was preceded in death by his grandfather Dr. Edmund Portnoy.
Dylan had a heart that shined brightly in every part of his life. He adored his friends and found joy in every moment spent with them. His passion for music - especially percussion - filled the house with rhythm, and he never missed a chance to tap out a beat. He loved the game of soccer and dreamed of being on the field. And when he wasn't outside, he was deep in the worlds of Dungeons & Dragons, where his imagination and creativity came alive.
A proud Type 1 diabetic and Ehler's Danlos warrior, Dylan's final act of kindness was his decision to be an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others and contributing his pancreas to Type 1 research.
