E. Royal Degre, 83, of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the Center of Eden Hill.
Born on April 21, 1942, Royal was the son of the late Elmer J. Degre and Pearl Degre. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969, an experience that shaped his life with discipline, curiosity, and integrity.
After his military service, Royal pursued a successful career as an electrical engineer, where his sharp mind and steady hands brought innovation and reliability to every project he touched.
Royal was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for his Corvettes, a love for playing golf on the weekends and a fascination with coin collecting. Whether cheering for his favorite baseball or football teams or sharing stories with family and friends, Royal's humor and warmth made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Marc Royal Degre (Sherri Walls); his daughter, Liette Degre; his brother Rayne and three sisters; Diane Delosh, Debbie Kormanyos, Dwala Warnes, and his beloved dog, Lambeau.
Royal will be remembered for his kind heart, his curiosity for life, and his unwavering love for his family.
