E. Shari Shapiro 73, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. Shari was a longtime resident of Framingham, MA. Born in Boston, on January 24, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Judith (Rosenblum) Shapiro.

Shari loved dogs, probably more than she liked most people. Throughout the years she always had an animal companion or two. Flyer, her best friend for the last 12 years, will miss her terribly. They went everywhere together, and he snuggled at the foot of her bed until the end.

She loved talking on the phone, and this led to a successful career in sales. Her work could be seen on everything from billboards to receipts received when passing through a toll booth.

Shari was one of a kind. She lived her life the way she wanted. She loved watching sports, especially golf. She also enjoyed playing games, either on the computer or with friends.

Shari is survived by her sister Linda Bendel and brother-in-law Bruce Bendel of Sudbury, MA as well as her niece and nephew, Jessica Bendel of Sudbury, MA and Jason Bendel of Fitchburg, MA. She was loved by her step-mother Frances Shapiro of Londonderry, NH and her aunt Rhea Schindler of Great Barrington, MA. She also leaves behind her step-siblings Ellen Covici and Rich Flashman along with her many cousins.

The family would like to thank everyone at Fresenius Kidney Care in Framingham. Not only did the staff care for her physically, they also became her friends. We also appreciate everyone at Framingham Animal Hospital, staff and residents at Shillman House, and employees of Jewish Family Services of Metrowest for showing Shari so much kindness.

A graveside service will be held for Shari on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 12pm at the Hebrew Cemetery, S. Beech Street, Manchester, NH.
