Earl Wayne Chiddix

Earl Wayne Chiddix, born September 9, 1953, (72) passed from this life on December 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy defined by unwavering faith, selfless love, and a lifelong commitment to serving others. A God-fearing man, Earl walked daily with the Lord, allowing his faith to shape every part of who he was. He loved God deeply, loved his family fiercely, and lived with quiet strength, humility, and purpose.

Family was the foundation of Earl's life. He gave freely of his time, wisdom, and heart, always placing the needs of others before his own. While his passing leaves an immeasurable absence, his family finds peace in the promise of eternity and in knowing that he is now reunited with his children and grandchildren he never had the chance to hold.

Teaching was not simply Earl's profession–it was his calling. He believed that every student carried God-given worth and potential, and he dedicated his life to helping young people discover both. Through patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in others, Earl changed lives in ways that reached far beyond the classroom. His influence will continue to echo through the countless students he inspired and the values he instilled.

Earl was preceded in death by his infant son, Jeremy Chiddix; his parents, Don and Joan Chiddix; and his brothers-in-law, Bo Lightfoot and Don Love.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Chiddix of Canton, OK; his children, Jennifer (Adam) Topliff of Wamego, KS; Heather Pelican of Kinder, LA; Allison Chiddix of Canton, OK; Marisa (Zack) Evans of Canton, OK; and Lindsay (Salvador) Alvarado of Elkhart, KS; his grandchildren, Trenton, Sertrice (Abraham), Carter (Claire), Kaidence, Hannah, Isaiah, Eric, Maddox, David, Nayeli, Cody, and Jordan; his great-grandson, Amari; his sisters, Leona (Dwayne) Funk of Clinton, OK, and Pat Lightfoot of Weatherford, OK; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and former students.

Earl's life was a living testimony of faith in action. Though he will be profoundly missed, his legacy endures–in the lives he shaped, the lessons he taught, and the example he set. He has finished his race with faithfulness and now rests in the presence of the Lord he loved and served so well.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Canton School's Elementary Gym with Keith Robinett and Pastor Charlie Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Canton Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, OK.
