Donnie Cotton AKA "COTTON"

I met Earl while stationed at Pope AFB. He was a great guy and friend to have. I remember many days and nights sitting in his shop with all the family and friends. He was a very knowledgeable man but didn't take no mess from no one. If he said yes, he meant yes, but if he said no, he meant no. No questions asked. He was a very friendly and helpful person but twice as competitive.
If he liked, you he would give you the shirt off his back. If he disliked, you it would be very wise to keep your distance. Earl was like a father, a brother, a friend, a teacher and a positive influence on most that got to know him. We were both car and motorcycle junkies. Rest in peace my friend.
I just seen this. That's why I'm late responding.

I have known Mr. Earl for over 30 years. He was good friends of my parents. He always supported my dad's racing career as well as supporting him at the race track. They had a common love of motorcycles. His shop was always open to lend a hand. Just don't bother him when Young and The Restless was on. Mr. Earl was a great person and my family and I will definitely miss him.

We were discussing the topic of motorcycles he said his Goldwing came from under him in his shop when he hit a patch of sand. That's when it pushed it up against the wall. We both laughed about that for a while. That's when it started riding trike. He will be dearly miss.

I met Earl in 1982. Earl was always looking out for others and he always talked about the love he had for his children and grandchildren. Earl really loved classic cars and motorcycles! He sold me his 64 impala and we talked about that car long after I sold it. We offer our sincere condolences to the family.
