Earl T. Collins was born in East St. Louis, Illinois and was the youngest child of Flay W. Collins and Earl Parker. He
attended schools in School District 189 and graduated from East St. Louis Sr. High School. His professional career
was as a loan processer at a mortgage company.
Earl was an accomplished singer and poet. He loved listening to and singing songs by the O'Jays, Earth, Wind, and
Fire, the Manhattans, and The Dramatics. He played baseball, and according to his best friend who played on
teams with him, he was fast and could have played professionally. He was recognized as "Earl C" as an adult and
as "Earl, the pearl, the corn curl" in his youth. He was well-known in Pollack Town and is remembered with love by
those who live there.
Earl was preceded in death by both of his parents, by Shereena Martin, his daughter, and by his siblings, Bessie O.
Lucas and Otha L. Williams. He is survived by Clemmie Collins, his wife; Earl (Crystal) Collins, Shamon Martin, and
Shevon Martin, his sons; Jaye Collins and Sheena Martin, his daughters; Christopher (Tanya Cole) Raymond ,
Antonio (Shaye) Raymond, Sammie Raymond, Kevin Raymond, David (Alecia) Raymond, Gregory (Amber)
Raymond, his stepsons; Alonzo (Connie) Collins, his brother; Bernice L. Collins, his sister; grandchildren, nephews,
nieces, cousins, and a host of friends.
