He was born in Vienna, GA to the late Ernest Everett Fitzgerald and Ethel Stokes Fitzgerald. He worked in pulp wood when he was younger and then with RC Cola. He was the owner of Buddy's Auto Mart for many years.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hendrix Fitzgerald; a son, Brad Austin Fitzgerald; and a sister, Betty Jean Owens.
He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Steedley (Johnny) of Waycross, GA; numerous grandchildren; a brother, James Fitzgerald (Fannie); his trusted friend, Richard Church (Jessica); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday (January 11, 2025) at Music Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends starting at 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com.
