Earl J. Higgins Jr.

Earl J. Higgins, Jr. died on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the age of 79, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on September 6, 1946, to Earl J. Higgins, Sr. and Margaret Higgins.

Earl grew up in Glendale, Wisconsin, and spent most of his adult life in Milwaukee and later Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He worked the bulk of his career at Continental Can Company, where he was known as a proud union steel worker and served his membership as a steward. Outside of work, he could be found with his friends and family bowling, golfing, and playing softball. He was known not to miss Wisconsin football and basketball games, most often enjoying the action at the local pub.

More than anything, Earl was a devoted husband, father, gramps, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his big personality, strong opinions, and love of laughter. Earl will be known to those close to him for always speaking truth to power and for taking up for those who had trouble taking up for themselves.

Earl is survived by his wife, Christine Higgins; his daughter, Toni Higgins (Irv Crawford); his son, Earl J. Higgins, III (E.J.) and his wife Jennifer; his grandchildren, Gianna and Owen; and his sisters, Janie Krieg and Janis Reynolds.

The family will have a private Catholic mass to put Earl to rest. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life later this spring, where they hope to see family and friends gather to honor Earl's life with some food, drinks, memories, stories, and laughter.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
