Earl Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meadors Funeral Home - Republic Chapel on Dec. 31, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Earl Thompson (Tom) Jones With hearts full of love, we celebrate the life and homegoing of Earl Thompson (Tom) Jones, who went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 10th, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with COPD. Born on August 5, 1947, at Burge Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, Tom was the beloved son of E. Thompson Jones and Pauline Lowry Jones. In 1963, Tom met the love of his life, Sandra, and they were united in marriage on September 3, 1965. Together, they raised a beautiful and loving family. Tom surrendered his life to the Lord in 1974 and served Him to the best of his ability. His faith was an important part of his life, and with a servant's heart, he gave more of himself than most will ever realize. He was also honored to serve for several years as the board president of the Full Gospel Church in Elkland, Missouri. Tom spent most of his life on the road, driving 18 wheelers across the country. In his later years, he found great fulfillment in teaching others the skills of trucking and sharing his vast experience as an instructor at Wilson Logistics. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and suffering. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Lowry Jones, his stepmother, Rosemary Jones, his father, E. Tommy Jones, and his youngest brother, David Jones. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sandra; his children, Troy Jones and wife Lana, Tammy Taylor and husband Tony, Sherry Holt, and Eric Jones and wife Michelle; his eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his three brothers and their wives; his four sisters and their husbands; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his love and generosity. Tom's life was a testament to God's grace, and his legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to shine through those he leaves behind. His messages to all he knew and loved the past several months was 'just meet me there'.
