Earl Eugene "Gene" Leviner, born 5-9-1941, was called home to his Lord and Savior on 10-28-2023 (age 82). Preceded in death by parents Arthur Earl Leviner & Lucille (Griggs) Leviner. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen Leviner. He is also survived by his sister, Diane (Gary) Galey. Mother-in-law, Delores Stites. Brother-in-law, Gregory Stites, and Sister-in-law, Janet (Ray) Parker. Nieces & nephews: Christie (Michael) Bell, Sherry (Bill) Passo, Bradley (Chloe) Gibbs, Amanda (Malcolm) DeLoch, Erika (Travis) Dafler, Andrea (Dakota) Carranza, Angela Stites, Noah Stites, Matthew Stites, and Aunts/Uncles, Great Nieces/Nephews & many special friends that touched his heart.

Gene was born in High Point, NC. He graduated from Warwick High school in 1959 (Va), attended Trevecca Nazarene University (TN) & Olivet Nazarene University (IL), joined the Marine Corps (1964 to 1970), and attended Marshall University (WV) for his degree in accounting (1970). His working life was a Loss Control Engineer. He moved throughout his life to NC, VA, TN, IL, WV, CA, SC & OH. He moved to Ohio for "love". Gene loved sports (especially golf & football). He "converted" to an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan soon after he got to Buckeye country.

Gene & Karen met on vacation in 1992 and God's touch brought them together and married on 11-21-1992. The "LoveBirds" have had a wonderful life together, and loved to travel throughout the US after retirement in 2006.

Gene & Karen are members of Northwest Church of the Nazarene in Columbus, Ohio. Throughout the years, Gene has served as a Board Member, Youth leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher & filled many extra needs in the church.

Gene will be remembered by his contagious laughter, humor, & wit, and love for his family. His positive attitude was "do not worry about it, God has this!" His journey of faith is what brought him to the person he became for his eternal home.

He proudly served in the US Marine Corps, even knowing he is a Camp LeJeune victim. He never complained about his health & always said "once a Marine, always a Marine".

Visitation is at Newcomer Funeral Home on Wednesday 11-1-2023 from 10-12:00. Celebration of Life service follows at 12:00. Interment at Flint Cemetery. Dr Nina Gunter & Dr Moody Gunter officiating.
