Earl “Nosey” DeWayne Noel, age 74 of Elwood died April 12, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness. He was born July 14, 1932 in Fountain County, Indiana. He retired in 1997 as a Fork Truck Driver in the Shipping & Receiving Department at Delco Remy in Anderson where he worked for 47 years. He married Mary L. Carroll on August 10, 1953. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5782 in Elwood. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union #662 in Anderson. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he was an avid collector of antique kerosene lamps.

Suriviors include: Wife of 53 years – Mary L. (Carroll) Noel of Elwood; 2 Daughters – Cindy and husband David Mottweiler of Elwood and Patti and husband Myron Waymire of Frankton; Son – Rusty and wife Karen Noel of Elwood; 2 Brothers – Ray and wife Laveida Noel and Ernest Noel of all of Arizona; 9 Grandchildren – David J. and wife Traci Mottweiler of Cicero, Mindy and husband Dustin Bennett and Nikki Riser all of Anderson, Amber and husband Jeremy Lane and Tisha and husband Clay Huff all of Elwood, Greg and wife Chasity Waymire and Amy and husband Terry McCord all of Frankton, and Ryan Noel and Kreg and wife Sheena Noel all of Elwood; 15 Great-Grandchildren – Katelyn Mottweiler of Cicero, Kaleb Arehart and Joey Arehart both of Elwood, Faith Riser of Anderson, Kaylee Lane, Logan Lane, Elijah Huff, and Owen Huff all of Elwood, Katie, Casey, and Jr Waymire all of Frankton, Seth and Adam McCord both of Frankton, and Ethan Wideman and Jayde Noel both of Elwood. He was preceded in death by his parents – Carl S. and Dochia (Sheetz) Noel; Brother – Carl Noel, Jr.; and 2 Great Grandsons – Trenton and Dakota Lane.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of the East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM Monday, April 16, 2007 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. The Elwood V.F.W. Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites at the cemetery on Tuesday. Online condolences to the Noel family can be made at www.copherfeslermay.com

My thoughts are with Nosey's family today. I was a nurse in all the plants where he drove at Delco and always enjoyed my conversations with him. He was always so happy. May he find peace with our Lord.
