Earl Joseph “Cousin Earl” Preatto Jr. departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 64. He was a native of new orleans, LA, and a resident of Marrero, LA. Earl was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He was employed as a Thrower with Mister Jug Shrimp Boat. Earl lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. He was known for his generous spirit, strong work ethics, and he found joy in spending time on the water. Devoted father of Earl (Jessica) Hill, Quan Preatto (Ashley); He was also instrumental in the rearing of Candace Hill. Grandfather of Josiah Johnson Preatto, Uyssia Hill, and Yahsha Hill. Beloved son of Marion W. Preatto and the late Earl Joseph Preatto Sr. Beloved brother of Lydia Preatto (Armand) Green, Darlene Preatto Warren, Zetta Preatto (Eddie) Johnson, Jonathan (Montrice) Preatto, Octavia Preatto, and Elisha Preatto. Brother-in-law of the late Roy Lee Warren. He is survived by his devoted companion of 26 years, Cecelia Ervin; her daughter Shamira Ervin, whom he loved as his own; and her grandchildren Kai Manvel, Kayden Clark and Kendrick Clark, who brought him great joy. Earl is also survived by four Godchildren; Maricka Preatto Simms, Tanisha Heiser, Ashton Thomas and Ma’Cari Slack, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends, all of whom will cherish his memory. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant.
