Earl Shepherd Obituary

Earl David Shepherd peacefully passed away November 7, 2025.
Born and raised in Houston's Fifth Ward, he was the son of David and Frances Shepherd. Earl graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. His career spanned more than four decades in engineering, project management, and leadership, including senior roles with The M. W. Kellogg Company, Fluor Daniels, Industrial Project Controls Specialists, and Singer Link Group, as well as founding Thomas, Williams & Shepherd, LLC, and Project Solutions, Inc.
He was a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity for more than sixty years, Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Toastmasters, St. James' Episcopal Church, and multiple civic and professional organizations.
Earl is survived by his wife, Brenda Shepherd; son, Russell Shepherd (Darlene); granddaughter, Ariel Shepherd; and grandson, Gregory Shepherd. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Frances Shepherd and brother, Isaiah Shepherd.
A memorial service will be held at St. James' Episcopal Church on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., located at 3129 Southmore Boulevard, Houston, Texas. Interment will be by cremation under the direction of Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Earl's honor. https://www.stjude.org/give
