Earl G. "Zip" Thompson, Jr., age 84, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Elmhurst, IL.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. With a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. at Ahlgrim Funeral Home in Elmhurst

EARL ... Dr Earl Thompson ..known to Many as ZIP was a Great Person & a long time friend! Dennis Engh grew up with ZIP in Clarinda Iowa. 1970 our wedding was when I in person met ZIP as a member of our wedding party. Even ran into ZIP as we honeymooners were climbing the SanFransisco Crookedest Street Lombard and he was doing the same. Clarinda HS has been a group who have remained in touch even via Zoom. Denise Thompson joined the group in 1971 as ZIP´s bride. 2025 was a difficult health year for ZIp ... as we know that ZIP hand n hand with OurLORD walks with NO Pain NO Discomfort . Our hearts will forever hold EARL, Dr. Earl Thompson... known as ZIP along with many memories.
