Gloucester Township - Earle R. Bargerhuff, Sr. of Gloucester Twp. passed away after a brief illness on August 16, 2023. Age 82. Beloved husband of the late Mary Lois (nee Setzer) for 46 years. Devoted father of Amy Lynn Hansell (Brian) and Rick Bargerhuff. Loving grandfather of Elizabeth and Victoria. Dear brother of William Bargerhuff (Eileen). Brother-in-law to Bud Setzer (Debbie) and Arel Sharer (Charity). Also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kristin, Brian, Susan, and Eric and many great nieces and nephews. "Mr. B" was a teacher for 36 years, starting at Elias Boudinot Elementary School and later at Wilbur Watts Intermediate School in Burlington City where he taught math and science. His students have fond memories of class picnics at his parents' farmhouse in Broadmoor; his teaching them how to play chess; class volley ball and basketball games; and many projects and lab experiments including building bottle rockets. In addition to teaching, Earle was a bus operator for New Jersey Transit for many years. In his younger years, Earle loved to ski and was a member of many clubs. He also coached high school basketball for several South Jersey high schools. He and Mary loved to host picnics every summer at their home for their Wilbur Watts and Horace Mann families. He enjoyed playing chess, a nice meal out with friends and family, watching his granddaughters play soccer, rooting for the Eagles, Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers, or simply enjoying a cold beer with his long time neighbor friends. He will be missed dearly by all. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 10am till 12 Noon at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment Berlin Cemetery Berlin, NJ.
