Earle Thomas "Tom" Gamble, Jr., a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the age of 77. A service to honor Tom life will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 3:00 PM, with a visitation hour commencing at 2:00 PM. Tom will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where those who knew him can come to pay their respects.
Tom was born on November 26, 1946, in Beverly, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents, who undoubtedly welcome him with open arms in the afterlife. Tom lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service. He devoted his professional career to education, retiring from the Houston County Board of Education as a respected educator. With a Master's degree in Education, he inspired countless students with his commitment to learning and growth. His colleagues and students remember him as a gentle guide and an enthusiastic cheerleader who always sought to bring out the best in others.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and consideration, Tom had a profound impact on everyone he met. His interests included golfing, tennis, and being a steadfast supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. An avid gardener, he found joy in cultivating beauty and nurture within his community. Tom's patriotism and love for animals were cornerstones of his character, as he often supported causes close to his heart.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Amber Cross Gamble, and their children: Kathryn (Glen) Morris, Rebecca (Brad) Gorney, John T. (Rachel) Gamble, and Blair C. (Josh) Gamble. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Keaton (Christina) Morris, Lily Morris, Madelyn Gorney, Daniel Gorney, and Isla Gamble, as well as his great-grandchild, Spencer Morris, his sister, Paula Dettorre, his niece, Allison (David) Lane and a host of extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tom's memory to The Well, located at 600 N. Houston Lake Blvd, Centerville, GA 31028, reflecting his unwavering dedication to service and community support.
As we bid farewell to a wonderful man, let us remember Earle Thomas Gamble, Jr. not for the sadness of his parting, but for the myriad ways in which he enhanced the lives of those around him. His legacy of love and thoughtfulness will endure within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
