Earlene Montgomery Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Egan-Ryan Funeral Service - Central Chapel on Feb. 8, 2023.
Earlene Sims Montgomery was born in Roopville, GA on September 17, 1933 to David and Essie Sims. She was baby of 7 children.
Earlene once said that she did not like working on her family's farm so when she was 20 years old she, her husband and her first born headed up north to Dayton, Oh. She later moved to Columbus and grew her family with 8 more children.
Earlene was a nurturing care giver who enjoyed helping others. She worked for a small family owned nursing facility as a nurse, nurse aide, cook and what ever else needed to be done for the 12 residents who called Parkwood Manner home. In 1994, she retired and the owners gave her and a companion an all expense paid and spending money vacation to anywhere she wanted to go. She chose Hawaii and her companion was not her child. She took Sister Simpkins.
In 1962, Earlene obeyed the Gospel and was added to the Lord's Church. Once there she worked faithfully as a loyal servant of God. Earlene loved to sing loudly and share encouraging words of wisdom to she knew and strangers too.
Now back to those children Earlene was a grand mother of 24 grands, 63 great grand and 22 great great grand at last count.
Earlene gracefully and peacefully answered the while at her home on February 2nd 2023. She joins her parents, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, her 4 children, grandchildren and great grand children. She leaves behind to mourn her passing and cherish her memory: 5 children, grand children, great grand children great great grand children, niece/sister, great niece, a host of friends and family in the Lord.
