Earline Mango passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the age of 83. She is predeceased by her parents Isabell Clayton and Joe Robinson of Spiro, OK; brother Sylvester Clayton, sister Mozell (Clayton) Byrd; and husbands, George Langston and Larry Mango. Our hearts deeply mourn her loss.
Earline is lovingly remembered by her son Elroy Langston and his wife Noella of Fitchburg, MA, and her daughter Theresa (Langston) Tomic and husband Darko of Pelham, NH.
Earline cherished her family and was a proud grandmother (Grammy) to Corey Langston, his wife Sarah, their children Avery and Kennedy of Indianapolis, IN; Kyle Langston, his wife Holly, their children Mason, Aubrey, and Sean of Indianapolis, IN; Sydney Langston of Fitchburg, MA; Isabella and Mario Tomic of Pelham, NH and Brandon Doiron of Ayer, MA.
She also leaves behind nieces Aliene (Byrd) McKesson of Williamston, NC, and Mozlisa Shaw of Seattle, WA and nephew John "Junior" Byrd of Lincoln Park, MI. She also held a special place in her heart for her dear friend, Cheryl Pierce of Windham, NH.
Born on July 7, 1941, and raised in the Fort Coffee section of Spiro, Oklahoma, Earline held fond memories of riding her brother's horses and piling into the back of her stepfather Joe's pickup for ice cream with friends. She was among the first Black students in Spiro High School's newly integrated classes, a challenging experience that left a lasting impression.
After graduation, Earline traveled with her husband George Langston a soldier in the US Army to live at Ft. Devens, MA and eventually to Nuremburg, Germany. Once back in the US, she earned a master's degree from Cambridge College which enhanced her career in engineering support at Digital Equipment Corp., where she coordinated logistics for nationwide conventions.
After relocating to the Baltimore area, she worked as a mentor at the National Guard's "boot camp" program supporting young adults struggling with substance use disorders. After retiring she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
With the untimely passing of her cherished husband Larry, she returned to Massachusetts and found renewed faith and fellowship at Andover Baptist Church, participating joyfully in church life and volunteering. She also found a new chapter of life and love with husband and Deacon John R. Morgan of North Andover, MA by whom she is also survived. Earline is deeply missed and joyfully remembered by all who knew her. A faithful daughter of God, she now rests in eternal peace.
A memorial visitation will be held in the Andover Baptist Church, 7 Central Street, Andover on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10AM to Noon. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Donations in Earline's memory may be made to the Andover Baptist Church, 7 Central Street, Andover, MA 01810. Earline was more than a friend, she was family. She often said that she didn't make friends easily, so the fact that she trusted me as a friend, meant a lot. I miss our shopping sprees, going out to eat and many phone calls. She once said, "I don't turn my back on my friends." I hope she felt that I reciprocated that sentiment. It was an honor to be her friend. I wish we had more time. Miss you always. Cheryl Pierce
