Earnest Furgeison Obituary
Sonny was born on September 27, 1942, in Tuckerman, Arkansas, to Minnie Jane Wingo Furgeison and William Thomas "Bud" Furgeison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Owen, Luke, and Calvin Furgeison; and his sisters Nora Malone, Alice Bierbaum, and Lucille Tunstall.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of almost 64 years, Mary Hughes Furgeison of Oil City, Louisiana; his daughter Valarie Furgeison Eichler and husband Dariusz of Mooringsport, Louisiana; his son Earnest Furgeison and grandson Tripp Furgeison of Augusta, Georgia; his granddaughter Kaitlynn Denise Eichler of Wylie, Texas; his sisters Betty Sue Winchester of Tuckerman, Arkansas, and Patricia Ann Kious and husband Freddie Kious of Bono, Arkansas; along with a host of cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at United Pentecostal Church of Oil City, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Oil City United Pentecostal Church.
Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mooringsport, Louisiana.
The family would like to express special appreciation for the excellent care provided by Dr. Chase Herrera, Dr. Nguyen, and the compassionate nursing staff of North Caddo Medical Center.
