Earnest (Hoosty) Honea, 87, of Cumming, GA passed away September 26, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for 52 years and loved sharing about Jesus with everyone he met. Mr. Honea served in the Army from 1961-1963 and was very proud of his service to this country. Earnest was part of the Matt Masonic Lodge #694 for years and was an anchor to his community. He was married to his bride, Noell Honea, for 62 years and his family was the was the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents Buell & Leona (Grogan) Honea; brother, L.B. Honea, sister, Dorthy Smith, and son-in-law, Chad Bailey. He is survived by his loving wife, Noell Honea; son and daughter in-law, Jeff & Lisa Honea; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & Ben Lancaster; grandchildren, Heather Honea, Madison Honea, Morgan & Cody Long, Andrew Lancaster; great grandson, Riley Long; sister Sarah Hood; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 29th, 2024, from 1 PM until 4PM and 5 PM until 8 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040. Services for Earnest will be held on Monday, September 30th at 11 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Richard, Rev. Dennis Bottoms and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Remains will lie in state at the church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow the service at Sawnee View Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Oak Grove Baptist Church Camp Fund.
