It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Graue, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 25th, 1957, in Bradford, PA, Pat touched the lives of many with his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
Pat was the cherished son of Norman Graue and Dorothy Carr. He was predeceased by his father, Norman “Butch” Graue, whose memory he held dear. Pat leaves behind his devoted wife of 43 years, Lorraine Graue, who stood by his side throughout life’s journey. Their love story began in Decatur, GA, where they married on June 3, 1983, and continued to blossom in Cumming, GA, where they built a life filled with laughter and love.
A proud veteran, Pat served his country in the Army from 1976 to 1978, embodying a spirit of dedication and service. Following his military service, Pat channeled his passion and skills into his own tile and stone company, which he ran successfully for 36 years. His craftmanship and commitment to excellence were admired by all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Pat had a profound love for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hiking, and tending to his yard. He was a man who delighted in simple pleasures and possessed an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. Pat was known for his love of people and his unique ability to connect with those around him, often enjoying the art of people-watching. His generous nature was evident in his love for canning and sharing his homemade creations with loved ones and strangers alike.
He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Graue Bellefontaine of North York, Ontario, Canada, and her family, including niece Richelle Collier, Gary and Braiden Collier of Newfoundland, Canada, Richard and Trace Bellefontaine of Canada, and great-niece Amanda Posada, her husband Sebastian, and their daughters, Layla and Ava Posada, of Canada. Pat is also remembered fondly by his brother-in-law Claude Thompson and wife Jane Thompson of Atlanta, GA, sister-in-law Laura and husband Bradley Sanford of Ellijay, GA, all of whom cherished Pat’s presence in their lives.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Veterans Administration Hospital of Atlanta for their compassionate care and kindness during Pat’s illness. Their support was a source of comfort in difficult times.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on March 25th, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30144. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor the memory of a remarkable man whose legacy of love and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
Pat Graue’s life was a testament to the power of kindness, humor, and love. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
