William Lawrence Graue, 76, died in his home surrounded by his loving family Dec. 29 at 1:42 p.m. in Galloway. He was born on Oct. 28, 1949, in Covington, Kentucky to the late William H. and Virginia (Hansel) Graue. His sisters Christina Lea Gaeth and Marjorie Burress also preceded him in death.
He graduated from Lexington Catholic High School in 1967. He attended Western Kentucky University and finished his bachelor’s degree in accounting at Franklin University in Columbus. He met the love of his life Mary Ann Kienle while living in Grove City. They were married in 1973 and lived happily for 52 years together. He was an avid bowler, scoring a perfect 300 game at Stardust Lanes. He loved golfing, and he scored a hole-in-one at a golf course in Lexington, Ky. He loved The Beatles, gambling and the Kentucky Wildcats. Bill was the life of the party, and his sense of humor was unmatched.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann and three children Jessica Graue (Christopher West) of Dayton, Monica (Benton) Gregov of Albers, Illinois and Lisa Graue of Columbus. Also surviving him is brother James E. (Susan) Graue of Chicago, brother-in-law Peter Kienle (Cindy Long) of Powell, sister-in-law Angela R. (Rex) Smith of Grove City, sister-in-law Cynthia L. (David) Sheets of Galloway, sister-in-law Jane E. Kienle M.D. (Dean Bramlet M.D.) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, two grandchildren Porter and Brewer Gregov of Albers, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH, 43123. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date.
