Wallace Eugene Evans, 90, of Elko, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Wallace was born on April 30, 1935, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was the son of the late Clarence and Wilma Reigel Evans.

Wallace proudly served his country in the United States Army before embarking on a long and respected career in banking. He shared his knowledge and experience by teaching accounting at Franklin University, where he invested in the lives and futures of many students.

A devoted member of Second Baptist Church, Wallace’s faith was central to his life. He sang in the church choir and volunteered with Awanas, encouraging and mentoring young people in their spiritual growth. He had a deep love for reading, a steady devotion to God, and a heart fully committed to his family.

Wallace will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering faith. Above all, he cherished his family and lived his life as a reflection of the love and grace he found in his Savior.

He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, service and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Syliva Evans and his sister, Donna Christine Cassada, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Wallace is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Wilma Evans, siblings, Roberta Larrick (Bernard), Nedina Lou Nelson (Roger), Robert Evans (Ruth), Eddie Evans, James O. Evans, Bernard Evans (Darlene) and Donald Evans (Gail).

Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
