Dennis George Biscan, of
Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on March 16, 2026, at age 81.
Born in
East Chicago, IN, known to many as "Denny," he will be remembered for his deep devotion to his faith, his family, and his friends. His strong faith was the foundation of a life marked by honesty, generosity, and a quiet commitment to serving others. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, offering his time, wisdom, and kindness to anyone in need.
Denny was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, and a cherished grandfather. He found great joy in teaching his sons and grandchildren-whether guiding them through household projects or showing them how to prepare a simple meal in the kitchen. He had a special gift for making life's everyday moments meaningful.
He delighted his grandchildren with magic tricks, shared laughter at family gatherings, and gently encouraged clear speech-famously reminding them to avoid the word "um." His sense of humor and patience made him both a teacher and a friend to those he loved.
In his younger years, Denny was an avid athlete who played college football (Benedictine University in
Lisle, IL) and enjoyed playing basketball and ALTA tennis. He also, on occasion spent time pheasant hunting with his brother George. Over the years, he found joy in boating at the lake, taking cruises, and relaxing at the beach.
Denny had a playful and competitive spirit, which showed in his love of card games, board games, bowling, ping pong, horseshoes, bocce ball, and golf. He also shared his passion for sports by coaching baseball and cherished every opportunity to gather with family and friends.
He was a loyal regular at a handful of favorite restaurants, enthusiastically recommending them to others. Denny knew each menu by heart-and those close to him certainly knew exactly what he would order every time. He also looked forward to his weekly Thursday lunches with his neighborhood buddies.
Of course, Denny also enjoyed his television time, spending countless hours watching favorites like Columbo, Murder, She Wrote, Matlock, Monk, and Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
Notably, Denny spent 31 years with IBM, and became a certified Master Gardener in 2003. He also gave generously of his time through volunteering and mentoring, leaving a lasting and meaningful impact on his community.
Above all, Denny will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the lives he touched so deeply. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Denny is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, with the relationship dating back 65 years, Barbara (Lengyel); his children David (and his partner Michelle) and Dennis (and his wife Heather); his grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Abby, David Jr., Sully, Piper, Andrew, Hunter, Olivia, Grace and Sophia; his great grandchildren Elsa and Theodore; his siblings, Sr. George Ann, George and Denise (Biscan) Arnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ann Biscan.
A memorial service will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3740 Holtzclaw,
Cumming, GA, 30041 on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
