Andy Edward Mabry, known to friends and family as Ed or Papa, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1941, in San Saba, Texas, to parents who were migrant farm workers. Ed was the oldest of eight siblings, and his early years were spent moving from job to job, living in a tent as his family sought new opportunities.

Ed graduated from Pittsburgh High School while living in Pineview. It was during those formative years that he met Betty, who was visiting her grandparents in the area for the summer. They fell in love and were married on October 13, 1962. The couple lived in Leesburg before moving to Greenville and Sulphur Springs. Eventually, they settled in Winnsboro, where they built a life and raised their family.

In his early career, Ed worked at E-Systems in Greenville for over a decade. He was proud to have been part of the team that worked on 'Airforce One.' Later, he purchased a dairy farm outside of Sulphur Springs, but found that dairy farming was too time consuming. So, in 1973, the couple moved to Winnsboro, where Ed returned to E-Systems while also building a poultry farm. He also managed to start a shavings business alongside his brother/best friend, Larry during this time where they provided bedding for local horse/poultry farms.

In the early 1990s, Ed and his son, Matt, expanded their farming ventures by raising cattle and producing hay, building a solid partnership that would thrive for years. Ed was known for his love of working on the farm, cutting and raking hay on his tractor, and gardening during the summer months. His family meant the world to him, and he loved spending time with them, especially his granddaughters, Danielle and Darcie, whom he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on at Lady Raiders basketball games.

A highlight of Ed's life was a special trip to Alaska that he took with Betty, a cherished memory that brought them joy for years. While he enjoyed the endeavors of farm life, he also found time to visit his son Tim in Florida and took cherished vacations to Branson with Betty.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Mabry; their sons, Tim and Matt Mabry; daughter-in-law Stacie Mabry; granddaughters Danielle Truett and husband Ty Truett, Darcie Mabry; great-granddaughter Avery Truett; and great-grandson Lincoln Truett; siblings; Reba Dodd, Sandra Wallis, and Larry Mabry; sisters-in-law Liz Mabry, Kathy Mabry, Janet Mabry and Nancy McKethan; brothers-in-law; Richard Dodd and Don Wallis; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special neighbor; Tonya Jones.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; Winfred Mabry, and Bessie Mabry, siblings; John Mabry, Dianne Nelson, Roger Mabry, and Robbie Mabry; brother-in-law; Danny McKethan.
