Ed Mills, age 86, a beloved man born on February 10, 1938, in Clay County, Kentucky, to the late Leonard Mills and the late Amelia Mills. He departed this world on October 2, 2024, at Our Hospice of Columbus, Indiana. He lived a life rich in love, laughter, and the joy of sharing his passions with those around him.

Ed was a proud father to James Mills and his wife Nancy of Seymour, Indiana, along with Ruby Gilbert and her husband Tony, also of Seymour. He was cherished as a brother by Cecil Mills and his wife Mary of London, Kentucky; Tolman Mills and his wife Charlotte of Manchester, Kentucky; Marie Cox of Pennsylvania; Elizabeth Reid of Manchester, Kentucky; Alta Smith of London, Kentucky; and Beulah Harris and her husband J.R. of London, Kentucky. Ed delighted in the company of his fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with whom he shared cherished moments.

Ed's zest for life was undeniable. He had a profound love for fishing, and his enthusiasm extended beyond angling as he relished the opportunity to teach others this treasured skill. He enjoyed gardening and took immense pleasure in helping others,

Beyond his hobbies, Ed's personality shone brightly. Known as a big cut-up with an infectious sense of humor, he was always ready with a good joke or a heartwarming story that could brighten anyone's day. His loving and caring nature, coupled with his generous spirit, earned him the admiration of many, as he truly possessed a heart of gold.

Ed was also a dedicated member of the Eagles Club 655 and the Conservation Club, and he embraced his faith as a Baptist. His legacy of kindness will be remembered within these communities as well as among his family and friends.

Ed rejoins his beloved wife of over 61 years, Amy (Philpot) Mills, as well as his sons William, Jeffrey, and Michael Mills; brothers Leonard and John Mills; and granddaughter Chantel Mills, and great-granddaughter Jordan Johnson, who have all preceded him in death.
