Mr. Eddie Fennell Estrich Jr., age 34, of
Anderson, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Born in Anderson County, Eddie Jr. lived a life marked by love, loyalty, laughter, and music.
Eddie was a giver at heart. If he had it, you had it - whether it was a plate of food, time, laughter, encouragement, or simply his presence. He showed up for the people he loved. That was who he was.
He had a deep love for cooking, a passion he developed alongside his father at a young age. The kitchen was one of the places where Eddie expressed his love - learning, helping, and eventually adding his own twist to the recipes he grew up watching his father make. Cooking wasn't just about food for him - preparing meals was his way of caring for others, gathering people together, and making sure everyone was fed.
Music was another language he spoke fluently. Eddie had a gift for playing the keyboard by ear, a talent he carried over the years. Whether playing in church or sitting at the keys alone, he let the music flow. Through those melodies, he expressed his heart in ways words sometimes could not.
Eddie was proud of earning his degree from Tri-County Technical College and continued striving to build stability in his life. In this most recent season, he committed himself to his work with a consistency that reflected his growth. He showed up and he was on time. He handled frustration differently. Those closest to him saw a man becoming more disciplined, more focused, and more intentional about his future.
In what would become one of his final weeks, Eddie shared a meal at home with his mother and sister - laughing, tasting, and enjoying every bite. True to who he was, he made sure family was thought of as well, sending food along to others. It was a simple but beautiful evening, one that now stands as a reminder that love often lives around the table.
In the last months of his life, Eddie was embracing change. He was working on himself and beginning to see himself differently. Those closest to him witnessed a lighter spirit and a renewed excitement about living.
He is survived by his father, Eddie Estrich Sr. (Charmaine Williford); his mother, Sheila Walker Estrich (Tracy Leach); his sister, Shennell Estrich; his brothers, Landus Johnson, Christopher Golden, and Ferrell Estrich; his godchildren; his nieces and nephews; extended family; church family; and a host of friends whose lives were forever touched by his generosity and spirit.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, John and Mattie Martin; his grandparents, Mae and Clarence Jones Jr., O.C. Estrich, and Martha Skelton Estrich; his stepmother, Earlene Johnson Estrich ; and his sister, Tamika Edrina Estrich Jones.
Eddie's legacy is not measured in years, but in love. He played by ear, but he lived from the heart - and his love will continue to echo in the kitchens where he stood, the keys he played, and the hearts of those who knew him.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
