Eddie “Ed” McMillan, age 81, of Arkadelphia peacefully passed away at his home on Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born November 15, 1943 in Prescott, Arkansas to the late Charlie Cecil and Duena (Gates) McMillan. Eddie was the founding member and head deacon of Center Point Baptist Church in Gurdon. He retired from Levi Strauss as a supervisor. Eddie spent his life on the family cattle farm and was heavily involved with his church. He adored his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Martha Lockwood, William McMillan, Wilma Holdford, Anna Burroughs, and Charline McMillan; very dear sister-in-law, Joyce Melugin; and best friend, Ester Norton.
Eddie is survived by the love of his life, whom he was married to for 62 years, Mollie E. (Melugin) McMillan of Arkadelphia; children, Dewey C. (Tonia) McMillan and Pamela Ann McMillan of Gurdon; grandchildren, Kayla (Clay) Doherty, Macy (Carthel) Jones, Harlee (Justin) Pirtle, Dusty (Emily) McMillan; great-grandchildren, Cami Doherty, Delta Jones, Kimber Doherty, Riggs Jones, Jaxon Pirtle, and Tripp Pirtle.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2025 at Center Point Baptist Church in Gurdon with Brother Danny Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at South Fork Cemetery in Gurdon. Pallbearers are Clay Doherty, Carthel Jones, Dusty McMillan, Justin Pirtle, Paul McMillan, Robert Plyler, Steven Plyler, Jimmy Plyler, Jr. Honorary pallbearers Danny Melugin, Earl Melugin, Tommy McMillan, Ronnie McMillan, Jim Lockwood, Blake Lockwood, and Randy Burroughs.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideons International.
