Eddie Thomas Quinn Sr., a beloved resident of South Boston, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11th, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on September 7th, 1949, Eddie was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Eddie worked for J. Harman Saunders Construction, White's Construction, and Lanco paving. Away from work, Eddie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He relished time spent atop his lawn mower, trimming grass, and nurturing his garden with care and devotion. Eddie loved everyone he met and truly never encountered a stranger. His warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel like family.
Eddie's legacy extends through his devoted wife, Geraldine Stembridge Quinn; his children, Anita Lynn Quinn, Frederick Alan Quinn, Eddie Thomas Quinn Jr., Donna New (Larry), and Cynthia New Stike; his cherished grandchildren, Crystal Glass, Chris Glass, Gracie Glass, Megan Hagood (Dean), Matthew New (Tynia), Erica Oxford (Tyler), and Adam Oxford; and his adored great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Alayna, Addisynn, Mason, and Sadie. He is also survived by his sister, Lillian Quinn, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Meredith and Doug Bowen.
He is predeceased by his parents, Cecil James Quinn and Mary Quinn; his sons, Paul Glenn Quinn and Brian New; and siblings Christine, James, Lynnwood, Anne, and Francis.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, at 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Berry Hill Revival Center in South Boston, VA. Graveside services will take place at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Chase City, VA, on the same day.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Lyon Funeral Home. Eddie’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and kindness, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
