Eddie "Weasel" Smither

Eddie Joe "Weasel" Smither, age 73, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

He was born on December 11, 1952, in Milan, Indiana, the son of the late Lawrence Smither and Ruth (Singleton) McCarty.

Eddie was employed by Watson Gravel, where he dedicated many years of service. He enjoyed music and playing chess, and he had a special love for rock hunting. After carefully cleaning and tumbling the stones he found, Eddie delighted in giving them to friends and family. Known as a helpful and kind-hearted person, Eddie found his greatest joy in spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Linda (Wilson) Smither; their children, Penny Clayton, Emily Bradley, Tyra Meredith, Toby Meredith, and Trevor Meredith; his grandchildren, Allie, Bret, Jerry, Magnolia, Troy, Molly, Cooper, Brady, Abby, Cory, and Caleb; and his great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Scarlett, Jade, Paris, Koby, Wyatt, Paige, Chloe, Aryabella, Brody, and Lola.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Smither; his mother, Ruth McCarty; and his brother, Robert T. Smither.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m., at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.
