Eddie Dale Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, pastor and friend. He left this world on August 22nd 2024 surrounded by his loving family and friends at the age of 70.
He was born on August 9th, 1954 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Edward Allen and Carol Lee Thomas. After graduating from East Anchorage High School in 1972 he joined the Army in the 101st Airborne Division. While stationed at Fort Campbell, he met his lovely wife, Carol Monsue. They married in Dickson, TN on July the 19th, 1974 and after a couple years moved to Oklahoma. After spending a few years there they moved back to Dickson County. Together they had 2 children, Michael and Nicholas. In his early 30’s he went to the Free Will Baptist Bible College to begin his calling as a pastor. He graduated magna cum laude. He would go to school during the day, carrying a full load of classes, while working nights at Tennsco to provide for his family. He graduated from the Bible College and began his pastorship at Rock Springs Free Will Baptist in 1990. In 1994 he became the pastor at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Dickson, which is where he re-dedicated his life to Christ several years earlier. He was the pastor there for 30 years before being called home by his Lord and Savior. He also drove a bus for Dickson County Schools for 30 years.
Eddie loved his family dearly, his church family too. He enjoyed reading, movies, spending time with his grandkids and watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, Tennessee Vols and Titans.
