Lisa Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McDonald Funeral Home, Inc. - Hickman County on Feb. 13, 2026.
Lisa Arlene Smith was born on March 5, 1963, in Dickson, Tennessee, to the late LC and Ester Rosson Smith. She passed peacefully from this life on February 12, 2026, at her home in Columbia, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her life partner, Jack Travis; her sisters, Martha Burrow, Brenda Bobo, and Francis Tidwell; her brother, Eugene Smith; her in-laws, Gene Burrow and Tommy Fuller; her nephew, Robert Walker; and her adopted-in-love daughter, Darian Doner. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Tyler) Hargrove; her sisters, Elaine (Tommy) Fuller and Helen (Ricky) White; her brother, Wayne Smith; and her adopted-in-love children, Glenda Beard, Kandice Wilcox, Leslee Golden, and Staci McGrew; and her grandchildren she loved dearly: Amelia, Ryker, Astoria, and Jaycee.

Lisa found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved going thrifting and yard-saling with her sisters, spending summer days on the creek bank working on her suntan while the children played nearby and relaxing with word-search puzzles in her free time. She had a true green thumb and took great pride in caring for her rosebushes - whose blooms grew "as big as apples" - and in raising her tomato plants.

Above all else, Lisa's greatest joy came from loving her grandchildren and proudly serving as the family's "head babysitter." Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love, and her nurturing spirit touched everyone who passed through her life.

Lisa will be remembered for her warm heart, her devotion to family, and the quiet strength with which she cared for those she loved. Her memory will live on in the lives she shaped and the love she so freely gave.
