Eddie Thomas, 70, of Amory, passed away on August 28, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on May 21, 1955, in Monroe County to Carl and Mary Jones Thomas. Eddie was a 1973 graduate of Hatley High School and later dedicated 40 years of his career to True Temper Sports in Amory, where he built many lifelong friendships. On August 31, 2007, he married Sheryl Tartt, and together they shared a life filled with love and laughter. Eddie was known for his kind heart and giving spirit—he never met a stranger and would gladly give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with friends, cheering on Ole Miss football, and sharing his passion for fishing. He was a proud member of the Tenn-Tom Anglers, competed in numerous fruit jar tournaments,loved the camaraderie of fishing and enjoyed dancing at the VFW with friends. Above all, Eddie deeply loved his family. He especially cherished the memory of his son, never missing a single day visiting Kyle's grave at the cemetery.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sheryl Thomas, Amory, Daughters; Chrystal Parker (Marty), Amory, Jennifer Sloan (Robin), Amory, Tiffany Jones, Joni Weaver (Ciera), Sister; Janette West (Dan), Brothers-in-law; Charlie Tartt, Timmy Tartt (Jan), Sisters-in-law; Deborah Ball (Darris), Pam Ponder (Steve), Carla Brown (Dewayne), Grandchildren; Devina Thomas, Dustin Parker (Brooke), Jake Sloan, Lauren Tyler (Lane), Anna Lee Thomas, Alexis Jones, Aliyah Hollingsworth, Olivia Peters, Riley Edmonson, Great Grandchildren; Braxton Parker, Blakely Gill, Haven Sloan, Scottie Sloan, John Luke Tyler, Josie Tyler, Wrenley Peters, and a host of nieces, nephews an friends.
In addition to his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his Son, Kyle Clayton Thomas.
Funeral Services will be held at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home on Monday September 1, 2025 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Greg Huguley and Bro. Justin Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Parham, Monty McCormick, Phillip Thompson, Randy Leech, Kenny Parker and Joe McGonagill. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tenn Tom Anglers and Carl Dobbs.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home on Sunday August 31, 2025 from 5-8 p.m.
