John Edward "Eddie" Venable passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025.

Eddie was born to the late Ralph and Phyllis Venable and grew up in Beaumont, Texas. He was a proud graduate of French High School. Professionally, Eddie spent his career in sales and business leadership, ultimately serving as a National Sales Manager before retiring. He was widely respected for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the genuine relationships he built throughout his career.

A devoted leader and advocate for soccer, Eddie played an instrumental role in growing the sport in Beaumont and across Southeast Texas. He organized and coached men's and women's club teams and served in leadership positions with organizations including the Beaumont Youth Soccer Association and Spindletop Select Soccer Club. In recognition of his years of dedication and impact, Eddie was inducted into the Texas State Soccer Association–South Hall of Fame.

Beyond his professional and athletic contributions, Eddie was known for his lifelong loyalty to his friends. He maintained close connections with people from every chapter of his life, childhood, high school, his careers, churches, and neighbors. Eddie was truly a character in the best sense of the word, but above all, he was loyal. He also had a deep love for his German Shepherds, caring for them unconditionally.

Eddie was also a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina and a brother of Waxhaw Lodge No. 562. He received his Entered Apprentice degree on July 17, 2006, his Fellow Craft degree on March 23, 2012, and his Master Mason degree on July 26, 2012.

Eddie was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Phyllis Venable, and his brothers, Joesph Michael Venable and Guy William Venable.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Huiwen Venable, whom he married in 2003; his sister, Sandra Womack (David); his sisters-in-law, Jane Venable and Huiling Zhong; his brother-in-law, Shaoquan Zhong; his nieces, Nickie, Christy, and Jamie; his nephews, Xizhi He and Haowei Zhong; and his dear friends.

A memorial service will be held in Beaumont, Texas, at a later date. Details will be announced when available.

Eddie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
